Exhibition: The Art of Marvel Superheroes

Exhibition: The Art of Marvel Superheroes

March – August 2014

Art Ludique - Le Musée (Paris)

In 2014, “Art Ludique – Le Musée” hosted an exceptional exhibition dedicated to the universe of Marvel heroes.

To accompany a short documentary screened as part of the exhibition, Alexandre Poncet created a musical suite adapted from the soundtrack of the Disney Channel documentary Behind the Mask of Superheroes, composed the previous year.

About the exhibition

“Art Ludique – Le Musée” offered the world’s first major exhibition dedicated to the Art of Marvel Super Heroes. The Avengers, Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Hulk, the X-Men, The Fantastic Four, Spider-Man, The Silver Surfer… Their names ring like icons. Their costumes and emblems are universally recognized, their place in our imagination and in the culture of our time is inescapable. This exceptional exhibition presented a panorama of the Marvel universe, from the historical plates of the original comics to the concept drawings and illustrations made for the latest film productions.

A Better World by Sacha Feiner

A Better World by Sacha Feiner

2013 – 24 minutes

Directed in 2012 by Sacha Feiner, a Belgian talent who rose to fame with the short film Gremlins Fan Films, A Better World follows the misfortunes of an intelligence agent after the fall of a totalitarian regime.

Alexandre Poncet’s music was initially intended to expose the rigidity of this dystopian universe before shattering it. A piano waltz in the middle of the projection illustrates the loneliness of the central character, and his final exile is accompanied by an orchestral suite that moves from anguish to transcendence.

Alexandre Poncet and Sacha Feiner will reunite on Last Door to the South, an animated short film that won a Magritte in 2016.

About the film:

Henry, a zealous citizen of a ruthless dictatorial state, has always given himself body and soul to his work at the Ministry of Denunciations. But suddenly, the regime collapses, seeing overnight the transformation of this cold, technocratic, paranoid world into an idyllic, caricatured expanse of green, singing, free fields.

Director: Sacha Feiner

Country: Belgium / Switzerland

Prince of Darkness : the Dédo show

Prince of Darkness : the Dédo show

2015

Alexandre Poncet has created several modules for the collector’s edition of Prince of Darkness, published by Free Dolphin Entertainment.

In the first bonus, Dédo looks back on the creation of his show and explains the development of his second, Killing Joke.

In another supplement, Dédo and Navo, co-author of the Bref series and director of Kyan Khojandi’s shows, discuss the stand-up scene in France and its evolution since the 2000s.

The third bonus finally allows Dédo to look back at the genesis of the web-series Vu par Dédo un con, several episodes of which are included on the disc.

About the show:
After having set the stage of the Jamel Comedy Club on fire, find Dédo in his first show on DVD on June 2, 2015 Dédo comes to devastate… The Gymnasium theatre, with its show Prince of Darkness! Want to see a man breathing fire and juggling chainsaws?!? Well, let’s go to the circus then… But if you want to see stand-up comedy that talks about the melting of the ice, the problem of orbital stations once the speed of light has passed, and the true color of tomatoes before the Middle Ages… It doesn’t exist. On the other hand, if you want to see a guy with long hair, a metal fan, talk to you about the 93 (a french area around Paris), cinema, old age, his vision of the couple or the true color of tomatoes before the Middle Ages, then go for it, because he will do it!! Except for the true color of tomatoes before the Middle Ages.
